Brigid Bishop’s Tarot Thought For The Day
March 24, 2008
SORROW.
The Three of Swords influencing our day is not really a positive energy as you can tell by it’s one word definition, Sorrow.
This card appearing at any point in a spread indicates a great sadness. Pain exists in the Querent’s life, this card indicates a loss.
In relationship readings this card can indicate a love triangle, infidelity, a betrayal, or the interference of a third party in the relationship.
This card requires the Querent to recover from the loss prior to moving forward. The positive influence of this card can be felt as the realistic acceptance of the loss incurred and the ability to recognize that a healing must occur.
The Suit of Swords does not comprise a pleaseant journey, the three brings us to realize this whether we wish to or not.
In divination, when a Querent asks if a lover is faithful and this card appears, pay careful attention to your interpretation, it does not necessarily indicate infidelity, however, it is a problematic card, it can mean that the love has gone astray, you must pay special attention to the dignity of the card and the positioning within the spread. Too many readers today are inexperienced at reading the diginities of the cards and jump to the conclusion that this card means an affair is underway, rather than looking at the big picture of the entire spread.
A reader should never inform a Querent that a lover is being unfaithful unless the spread is giving an iron clad “Yes” answer.
